the hotel met expectation. would come here again, the venue was clean, and location in the outskirts of muerren downtown was stunning and lovely. we stayed in a well-equipped and reasonably priced room with separate bedroom.

Unbelievable view of the mountains from the porch ... thrilling view of the valley below too ... as in straight down! Extremely friendly and helpful staff as well.

I had placed my reservation a month in advance and requested a room with a view. I was very disappointed upon arrival to get a room with no view. I would have chosen another location if I knew would not get a room with a view. Don't go to Murren if you don't have a view, seeing the mountains is what it's all about. I wouldn't recommend or stay here again.

Friendly staff (especially Roger) and wonderful view of the mountain and valley. Close to the Murren railway station, which helped as we had some heavy baggage to carry.
Bathroom was a little small but was clean.

Location is hard to beat, and facilities were good. Restaurant was quite good (better than expected), and the staff (I believe it was a family) were very friendy and helpful. We could not have asked for a better place in Murren, at the price. Would stay there again.

Not a good view from our room. The restaurant is under our expectation.

The young couple/owners, Agripinna and Roger, are perfectly matched for managing this family operated hotel. No matter how busy they are, they are happy to assist their guests with tour planning, restaurant suggestions (although theirs was by far the best we experienced in Murren), or just chatting about life in the Swiss Alps. This is the highest, occupied year round Alpine village, and the cliff edge position of Hotel Alpina provides vast views from 5000 feet to the valley floor. Try to book a mountain view room rather than a village view to enoy the sun and stunning beauty opposite, plus the thrill of watching numerous paragliders launching themselves from even higher up and floating repeatedly past your balcony as they manoeuvre themselves to the bottom. Rooms are comfortable and clean, and lodge like which fits the surroundings. The glass wall in the dining room overooks their precipitous position, the food is very good, and the welcome genuine. We would not stay anywhere else if we were to return. Certainly take the cable car ride to the top of the Shilthorn mountain, another 5000 feet up to the viewing platform and revolving restaurant for the full 360 degrees panoramic view to where the James Bond film, "Her Majesty's Secret Service" was filmed, and read the story of how this changed village life for that year of set up and filming. Go to Murren if you're in Switzerland if you want a real Alpine experience.

Hotel Alpina has spectacular views of the mountains and the Lauterbrunnen valley. There are numerous trails to explore as well. Breakfast was good and consisted of cold cuts, cheeses, breads, fruit preserves and hard boiled eggs. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful; everyone spoke English and were more than wiling to help me expand my German. We would absolutely stay here again!!
Our only complaint was common across Switzerland: the double consisted of two beds shoved together and not really secured together. There were several instances where I would be in the middle snuggled up to my wife and I'd wake up because the beds had started sliding apart and I was sinking between them. I just wish they would tie the beds together. Luckily, this was a minor frustration.

No full time receptionist. Internet access without own computer is limited. No ice or vending machine. No elevator. Limited ambiance.

Breakfast was fantastic. Could not be a more spectacular view with a better cup of coffee.

The shower pressure delivers solid jets, but expect temperature fluctuations that can make rinsing off a bit unpredictable. The room size felt a tad cramped, lacking the spaciousness some might expect for the price.

Owners and staff where very helpful indeed. Breakfast simple but good.No dinner served but recommendations for restaurants excellent.
Single room was small, but this reflected the the reasonable price. It was comfortable - so was not a significant factor.
